Do You Know You Have a Thought Life?

You Have a Work Life. A Home Life. A Social Life. But there's Another Life Influencing All of Them - Your Thought Life.

JENN_PIC.jpg

Meet Jenn.

Positive Psychology. Resilience. Real Life.

Thanks for checking in.  I believe one of the most important conversations we’ll ever have is the one happening inside our own heads.  And yet most of us spend very little time thinking about how we think.  That idea is at the heart of Big Up Thinking.

For more than a decade, I’ve taught resilience and mindset skills to people navigating stress, change, adversity, workplace pressures, relationships, and the everyday challenges of being human.  Along the way, I became fascinated by something simple but incredibly powerful:  The way we think matters.  Our thoughts influence how we interpret what happens.  Those interpretations influence how we feel and respond—and our responses influence what happens next.  We can’t control everything around us.  But we can become much more aware of the thinking we bring to it.

My Approach

I’m not here to tell people to “just think positive.”  Some negative thoughts are useful and necessary.  They help us identify problems, recognize risks, and prepare for challenges.  And then there's the other stuff—the exaggerated, repetitive, rigid, exhausting thinking I affectionately call: Stinkin’ Thinkin’.  Big Up Thinking helps people recognize the difference.  The goal isn't positive thinking.  It's productive thinking.  My training is practical, conversational, interactive, research-informed, and fun.  I want people to recognize themselves in what they're learning, laugh a little, think a lot, and leave with tools they can actually use when real life shows up.

ABOUT US

This isn't lecture training.
It's a conversation.

Big Up Thinking brings thought-life training to life through interactive, engaging conversations that get people thinking, talking, and participating.

Sessions can be designed for large groups, small groups, teams, classrooms, or workshops - and they’re built to feel approachable, practical, and fun.  We talk.  We laugh.  We reflect.  We challenge some of the ways we’ve always thought.  And most importantly, people leave with simple tools they can actually use in everyday life.

INDIVIDUALS

Build greater awareness of your thought patterns, recognize what's helping and what's getting in the way, and develop practical skills for perspective, resilience, and more productive thinking.

WHO WE HELP

One Idea. Real Life. Different Audiences.

Our thought lives come with us everywhere—to work, to school, into relationships, through change, and into the challenges we face.

That's why Big Up Thinking isn't designed for just one type of person or one kind of setting. The circumstances may be different, but the starting point is the same: how we think influences how we respond to what's happening around us.

What Kind of Thinker Are You?

We all have patterns in the way we think. Some help us solve problems, maintain perspective, and move forward.

Others can keep us stuck, overwhelmed, or reacting before we've stopped to consider what's really happening.

Negative thinking can be useful.

It can alert us to risk, identify a problem, help us prepare for challenges, and tell us when something needs our attention.

The goal isn't positive thinking.

It's productive thinking.

The
"What If?" Thinker

Do you find yourself jumping ahead to everything that could go wrong?

The Overthinker

Do you replay conversations, decisions, or situations long after they've happened?

The Assumption Maler

Do you sometimes fill in the blanks without having all the facts?

The
All-Or-Nothing Thinker

Does one mistake, setback, or bad day sometimes become “everything is going wrong”?

Recognize Yourself

Anywhere?

Good. That's awareness.

We all fall into unproductive thinking sometimes. The skill is learning to recognize when your thinking is helping you—and when it has crossed over into stinkin' thinkin'.

Big Up Thinking isn't about eliminating every negative thought or forcing yourself to “think positive.” It's about becoming more aware of your thinking, understanding your patterns, and learning practical ways to shift your thinking when it isn't serving you well.

You don't have to change every thought.

You need to know which thoughts deserve your attention.

Awareness → Choice → Change

WHAT CLIENTS SAY

I had the privilege of attending Jenn Eichner's course on positive psychology and thought life and I was blown away!  Her engaging teaching style and use of real-life scenarios made the material easy to understand, practical and incredibly relatable.
10/10 would recommend this training to any professional student, parent or simply any human being interested in improving their mindset and well-being!

WHAT CLIENTS SAY

From what I have experienced, Jennifer Eichner, has designed a vehicle to promote that culture shift.  Some early facts of our first 7 weeks of school:  Students have nice things to say to one another Average daily attendance is increased.  Teacher complaints are decreased.  Discipline refferals have been reduced by 40%.  No students suspended for in appropriate behavior since school began.  If you are considering doing something positive for your school culture, the value of positive energy is well worth the cost of the program.
